Man Killed In Maryland Street Racing Crash: State Police
A 56-year-old man was killed in a street racing crash in Maryland before dawn on Sunday, March 17, state police said. It happened on Interstate 795 North and McDonogh Road in Owings Mills shortly before 4:50 a.m. Leo Anthony Brooks Jr., of Reisterstown, was driving a 2017 Mercedes “believed to be engaged in a street race with an unidentified vehicle” when he lost control while speeding and hit a northbound Jeep Liberty, police said. An estimated 300 vehicles took over a Baltimore parking lot and street as "anarchists" taunted police during a street race, authorities say. Maryland Drag Racer Found Guilty In Deadly 2019 Crash
A Silver Spring drag racer was found guilty for causing a multiple-vehicle crash that left one person dead in 2019, state officials said. Noe Daniel Suriel, 29, was found guilty by jury on Thursday, June 9 for causing the death of Rene Antonio Hernandez Jr., 32, during the collision on Georgia Avenue on Sept. 6, 2019, according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office.
