Baker died on Saturday, July 23, shortly before his 100th birthday and following more than six decades of active service to the residents of Mount Airy and the surrounding communities throughout the county and state. Cecil County Firefighter Killed In Ocean City While At Firemen's Convention A volunteer firefighter in Maryland was killed in Ocean City while attending the annual Maryland State Fireman’s Association convention, officials confirmed. Elkton resident Noah Day, 22, a lieutenant with the North East Fire Company in Cecil County, was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Coastal Highway on Monday, June 20.
