Dad Suffers Spinal Cord Injury Swimming In Ocean City, Support Rises
Support is on the rise for a Maryland man who suffered a life-threatening spinal cord injury while swimming in Ocean City. Patrick O'Malley was flown to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery to fuse his C3 through C6 vertebrae on Saturday, Sept. 16, his daughter-in-law Lauriann O’Malley, said on a GoFundMe page. He remained in critical condition battling pneumonia on a ventilator as of Sept. 23, Lauriann said. He had limited feeling and no movement, she said.
