County police were trying to stop a stolen vehicle near the 1800 block of Belmont Avenue, but the driver refused and headed onto the outer loop of I-695 traveling in the wrong direction, according to county police.
“Officers did not follow the stolen vehicle onto the highway,” said the BCPO.
The stolen vehicle struck an Acura TSX, killing driver.
The officers involved were equipped with body-worn cameras. The investigation is being led by the Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General.
