A suspicious death investigation was launched on March 28 in Anne Arundel County when police were called to the 900 block of Spa Road, where they found an unresponsive man - later identified by the Medical Examiner as David Winchester Jr. - dead.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, Winchester was the possible subject of an abduction.

Police say that at approximately 12:45 a.m. on March 28, officers were dispatched to a reported home invasion incident, where they spoke with Winchester's mother, who advised that two unidentified men broke into her home, demanded money, and said they had her son in their custody.

They threatened to harm him if the money was not handed over, and the suspects then fled - without any cash - in an unspecified vehicle in an unknown direction.

The 47-year-old Winchester's body was found later that day in Annapolis, and the department said that they believe he was the subject of the kidnapping.

Annapolis and Baltimore police detectives are now investigating the death.

Anyone with information regarding Winchester, his disappearance, or apparent murder has been asked to contact Baltimore Police Homicide detectives by calling (410) 396-2100.
