Community Rallies To Help People Who Lost Cars In Springfield Fire Springfield firefighters were able to beat back a brush fire on Wednesday, April 12, before anyone was hurt, but two cars weren't so lucky. Now, the community is rallying to help raise money to replace those destroyed rides.  The fire started around 250 Albany St. near Gasoline Alley. Fire crews were able to douse the blaze, but photos from the aftermath show how hot the flames got. Out-Of-State Trio Accused Of Stealing 12K Worth In Catalytic Converters In Mass Three men from Rhode Island were arrested after causing $12,000 in damage by stealing catalytic converters on the South Shore, authorities said. Drive-By Shooting On Massachusetts Street Under Investigation, Police Say Police in Western Massachusetts are searching for the person or people who fired shots on a city street, hitting a vehicle and an apartment building. The shooting took place around 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 23 on Francis Avenue in Pittsfield, Lieutenant Michael Maddalena said.  Arriving police units located ballistic evidence in the roadway and a parked vehicle had also been struck.  Further investigation showed that one round had struck the side of one of the apartment buildings as well, Maddalena said.
