Man Dies Shoveling Snow In NJ: Police A 67-year-old man died shoveling snow in Essex County, New Jersey on Sunday, Jan. 25, authorities said. At 12:44 p.m., officers responded to Beach Road and Martin Road for a report of a person down on the sidewalk, Verona police said. They found the man on his back unresponsive with a shovel in his hand, police said. CPR was initiated and he was transported to Mountainside Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The victim has not been identified, police said.
