NJ Rep. Reveals Illness That Led To Monthslong Absence From Congress
Rep. Tom Kean, R-NJ, returned to Congress for the first time since March, revealing what had kept him out for so long.
“Several months ago, due to health concerns, I entered the hospital for some testing,” Kean said in a speech on the House floor. “I was given the diagnosis of depression. Many people think it is feeling sad. It is so much more than that. It is physical, it is emotional, and until you experience it yourself."

A fresh national survey reveals a dramatic divide in public perception, spotlighting which leaders Americans admire, and which ones they could do without.
Gallup’s latest poll, conducted from Monday, July 7 to Monday, July 21 and surveying 1,015 US adults, ranked 14 well-known US and international figures.
The results show a striking gap between those held in high regard and those who have fallen out of favor.
