$1M Lottery Jackpot: CT Man Lands First Grand Prize In New 'Ghostbusters' Game
A Connecticut man became the first $1 million winner of the Massachusetts State Lottery's newest spooky lottery. Sevan Garabettian, of Enfield, won the seven-figure prize playing the new $5 "Ghostbusters" scratch-off game. He chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) over the annuity. Garabettian said he plans to use the money to buy a home and invest the rest. Garabettian bought the winning ticket at Quick Pic, 1 River Rd. in Agawam. The store will a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

Driver Released After CT/MA Pursuit Arrested Weeks Later In Road Rage Incident: Cops
A Hartford man accused of leading police on a pursuit from Massachusetts into Connecticut in March has been arrested again, this time for assaulting and threatening a 76-year-old driver during a road rage incident in East Hartford, CT State Police say. Shicorey Johnson-Harris, 26, was arrested Saturday, June 14, after a crash on the Route 2 eastbound Exit 3 off-ramp, according to Connecticut State Police. Springfield Drunk Driver Busted Going Wrong Way On I-91: Police
A Massachusetts man was arrested after multiple people called 911 to report him driving on the wrong side of the I-91 over the weekend. When Connecticut police spoke to him, they said he was drunk. Tyzier Virola, 25, of Springfield, faces charges of illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs/alcohol, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and improper parking on the highway, Connecticut State Police said. Big Y Foods has recalled several types of sandwiches and wraps at more than two dozen stores as part of a nationwide salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers. The recall covers any small or large sub, 30-inch Super Sub, wrap, or panini made fresh at the deli counter, the Food and Drug Administration said. The sandwiches weren't prepackaged and were made on Tuesday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 21. A man was killed this week after he was hit by a piece of heavy machinery in Connecticut, authorities said. The 68-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts, man was at Lindy Farms on Fletcher Road when a skid steer loader backed into him just after 11:15 a.m., Enfield Police said. The company filed the Chapter 11 petition on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Texas, near its Dallas headquarters. A Connecticut teenager was killed in a Western Massachusetts crash on Sunday, July 28, authorities said. The 17-year-old girl, from Enfield in Hartford County who was not identified, died just after the 2 p.m. wreck on North Blandford Road in the town of Blandford, the Hampden District Attorney's Office said.
