The man arrested in a 1990 New Jersey cold case killing last week is the husband of a South Carolina woman who vanished 14 years ago and has never been found.
Robert William McCaffrey Jr., 54, of Manteo, NC, was taken into custody at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 10, by a multistate task force in the killing of Newfoundland bank worker Lisa Marie McBride, who vanished after a night out in New York City, Sussex County Prosecutor Daniel Perez said.

Joseph D. Pietraszewski, 29, of Readington Township, a Town of Clinfton officer, was arrested on Friday, April 10, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said.

Wilkid Valcinord, 60, of Chicopee, was convicted of murder on April 2, 2026, following a jury trial in Superior Court in Hartford, according to Hartford Judicial District State’s Attorney Sharmese L. Walcott.
