The incident occurred Friday afternoon, March 28, near Reagan National in Arlington County, Virginia. Both aircraft continued safely to their destinations, authorities said. Delta Flight 2983, an Airbus A319, departed Reagan National at about 3:15 p.m. Eastern Time en route to Minneapolis, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
