Police Asking For Witnesses To Fatal Crash In Litchfield County
State police are asking witnesses to a single-car crash that killed a Terryville man on Route 8 in Watertown to come forward. The crash took place in Litchfield County around 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23 on Route 8 south of the Exit 38 on-ramp in Watertown. According to state police, John Wujcik, age 50, of Terryville, was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on Route 8 when it veered off the right side of the roadway and crashed into the rock ledge embankment. Two CT Officers Killed In Shooting Posthumously Promoted
Two Connecticut police officers killed in an ambush-style shooting have been posthumously promoted. The two, Sgt. Dustin DeMonte and Officer Alex Hamzy were killed in Hartford County on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in Bristol. DeMonte has been promoted to Lieutenant and Hamzy has been promoted to Sergeant, said Lt. CT Man Under Influence Flees Scene Of Crash, Police Say
A Connecticut man was arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash while driving under the influence. The incident took place around 10:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8 in Waterbury. According to Connecticut State Police, troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 northbound, south of Exit #36, in the City of Waterbury. Some 25 people were arrested and a large number of drugs were confiscated during a warrant raid of a Connecticut motorcycle club. A substitute teacher accused of fatally shooting a teenager and injuring a boy in her home has been having “psychotic episodes” that require on-demand medical attention, her attorney said on Monday, Nov. 16.
