Suspicious Package Leads To Evacuation In Western Mass
A suspicious package in Hampden County forced officials to order an evacuation late Thursday night, March 23, authorities said. Firefighters were called to the area near Main and James streets in Holyoke when someone found the package around 11 p.m., the Holyoke Fire Department said. Residents in that area were asked to leave until police could figure out if it was dangerous. Massachusetts State troopers were called to investigate and later determined it posed no threat. Residents were allowed to return home just after midnight, the fire department said.

Staff Member Injured By Explosive Package On Northeastern's Campus (

A staff member has been injured after opening an explosive package at Northeastern University, authorities said. Police received a call about an explosion at 39 Leon Street around 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, Boston Police said during a press conference later that evening. Suspicious Package That Draws Bomb Squad Turns Out To Be Medical Kit, Police Say
A suspicious package found at a Connecticut adult day treatment center turned out to be a medical kit. The package was found at the Institute of Living at 200 Retreat Ave., in Hartford on Thursday, April 1, said Hartford Police. Police and the bomb squad responded to the scene to investigate the package. Following an investigation, police said the package turned out to be a medical kit left in a bathroom.
