Worcester Man Seriously Injured In Hit-Run Crash; Police Asking For Help
Police are asking the public for information after a man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash as he crossed a Worcester street earlier this month. Police were called to June Street around 3:10 a.m. on July 19 and found a 26-year-old man suffering from serious injuries, authorities said. Police did not update the man's condition in their Wednesday, July 31, press release. Body Of Missing Mass. Teen Pulled From Walden Pond
The body of a teenager pulled from Walden Pond on Tuesday morning, July 30, is believed to belong to a 17-year-old who went missing last week, authorities said. Brian Lopez, of Lynn, who was a rising senior at Lynn Classical High School, was reported missing on Friday. Police had marshaled an aggressive campaign to find him, but all early indications point to the body belonging to Lopez, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. Police Searching For Hit-Run Driver In Western Mass
Chicopee police are asking for the public's help identifying the driver of a vehicle they say was involved in a hit-and-run last week. Authorities say a grey Infiniti crashed into a car near Montgomery and Grattan streets on Thursday, June 15, before speeding away. Luckily, no one was injured. Investigators say the Infiniti has damage to the driver-side rear fender from the crash. Officers released multiple photos of the car taken by surveillance video near the crash site. He Tried To Attack, Rob Elderly Man In Western Mass; Do You Know Him?
Police in Hampden County are asking the public to help them identify a man they say attacked a 74-year-old man and tried to rob him earlier this week. The alleged attack happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 11, at 40 Springfield St. in Agawam, police said. Authorities did not say if the elderly man was injured in the incident. Police released surveillance video of the suspect hoping someone would recognize him and contact authorities. Detectives ask anyone who knows the man to contact them at 413-786-1717.

Self-Defense? Video Of Basketball Star's Death May Contradict Suspect's Story
The man accused of fatally shooting a young, basketball star said he fired in self-defense after the victim allegedly became enraged by the man’s laughter. Video footage of the incident, though, appears to dispute this. Court documents that were recently released reveal the shooter’s side of the story as well as witness statements and the contents of surveillance video. Jason Stone, 33, of East Hartford, said he shot Albertus Magnus basketball player Jaquawn Walters, of Hartford, 24, following a drug deal.
