A third Western Massachusetts man has been arrested for the alleged shooting death of a man earlier this year. Jason Batchelor, age 21, of Springfield was arrested on Thursday, June 17, after prosecutors presented evidence to a grand jury about his role in the February shooting death of 18-year-old Robert Crochiere. Police in Western Mass arrested an area man for allegedly having a high-capacity "ghost gun" as well as drugs during a search of his home. Police in Western Mass are asking the public for help after a man was found dead inside a convenience store from a gunshot wound. Man Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree In Western Mass
A driver was pronounced dead in Western Massachusetts overnight after crashing into a tree, police announced. Officers from the Springfield Police Department were called to the 1000 block of Boston Road shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24, when a single-car crash was reported, a spokesman said. Police in Western Mass have issued an alert for a man wanted on numerous charges including assault and battery with a motor vehicle on two police officers. A former Western Mass cop has been sentenced to two to three years in prison after being found guilty of several counts in connection with a child sex abuse case, Hampden County resident Daniel Cintron, age 31, of Monson, a former Springfield police officer, had been found guilty in a jury-waived trial in Hampden Superior Court on charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and intimidation of a witness.
