Quick-Thinking Officers Save Western Mass Man From Hanging Himself, Police Say
A Western Mass man who was attempting to hang himself from a tree was saved by quick-thinking police officers. The incident took place in Hampden County in Springfield around 11:!5 a.m., Monday, April 25. Springfield Police Officers responded to the 800 block of Boston Road for a report of a suicidal man, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police. Woman Suspected Of Using Firecrackers To Light A Car On Fire Is Arrested
A woman suspected of intentionally lighting a car on fire using fireworks was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 30. Lashawnda Naylor, 37, of Springfield, was arrested in the Tilton Street area of Springfield on the charges of burning a motor vehicle and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police said. Naylor is suspected of lighting a car on fire on Aug. 20. Overturned Dump Truck Spills Across Avenue
An overturned dump truck has spread landscaper’s debris all over a city Avenue just in time for the Wed., Sept. 9 commute. At around 8 a.m. Springfield police and fire officials responded to a report of an overturned truck on Rimmon Avenue. It is unclear at this time what caused the rollover, but the people in the truck were treated for minor injuries, Springfield firefighters said.
