Springfield police say the man who slashed the tires on the mayor's city issues sedan is always tied to two previous incidents involving the destruction of property. Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno ran for re-election as a tough-on-crime candidate, and now crime is being tough on him. Sarno's city-owned car was targeted by a man who slashed all four tires while it was parked at city hall on Wednesday, Jan. 17, officials said. Springfield City Hall Evacuated After Suspicious Container Found
A Western Massachusetts city hall has been evacuated after a suspicious contained was found near its entrance. The container was found around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Feb. 14, near the entrance to the Springfield City Hall. According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police the building was evacuated as a precaution. The Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating. This is a developing story.
