Recall Issued For 226K Smoke-Carbon Monoxide Alarms That Don't Sound Alert For Fires
More than 226,000 faulty combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled because they may fail to provide alerts if a fire was to break out.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that seven Kidde models - Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 smoke and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms (see above) - are included in the recall.

ID Released For Man Killed In Western Massachusetts Fire
Investigators in Massachusetts have released the name of a 58-year-old man who was killed in a house fire.
John Hebert was killed during the fire in Hampshire County, in Town of Ware, that broke out in his basement on Friday, March 19, officials said, noting that the fire at the single-family Palmer Road home was accidental.
Fire crews responded to the residence shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and were able to quickly knock down the flames. Hebert was found inside the home, treated by paramedics, and later pronounced dead, officials said.
