26-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After Being Thrown From Bike In Central Mass
Police say excessive speed caused an early morning crash on Monday, Sept. 9, in Worcester that killed a motorcyclist. The crash was reported around 2:45 a.m. near 465 Shrewsbury St. The 26-year-old Westborough rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Worcester police said. The man's name has not been released. An initial investigation found that the rider was traveling at an "extremely high rate of speed" when he hit a vehicle as it was turning left, Worcester police said. Manager Who Tried Using Drug-Dealing Profits To Start A Restaurant, Sentenced
A restaurant manager has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison for trying to use drug-sale profits to open a Worcester restaurant. Joseph Herman, 37, was sentenced on Friday, Nov. 20, by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy S. Hillman to 22 months in prison and one year of supervised release, according to the U.S. States Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts. He will also forfeit an undetermined amount of money in the future.
