Wrong-Way Crash: Bar Receipts, Social Media Lead To Arrest After Woman, 25, Killed In Danbury
A months-long investigation aided by bar receipts and social media posts led to the arrest of a man in connection with a wrong-way alleged drunk driving Connecticut crash that took the life of a young Fairfield County woman.
The crash happened on Route 7 in Danbury around 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 in the southbound lane just north of Exit 7.
The victim, Danielle Dempsey, age 25, of Danbury, was driving a gray 2005 Honda Accord when a black 2018 Dodge Challenger driving in the wrong direction struck her vehicle head-on, Connecticut State Police said.

CT Man Stabs Victim, Injects Self With Fentanyl, Police Say
A Connecticut man allegedly stabbed another man and then injected himself with a vial of fentanyl attempting to commit suicide.
The incident took place in Hartford County around 10 p.m. Sunday, March 5 at 456 Elm St., in Windsor Locks.
Officers responded to the home on a reported stabbing. As they arrived they were informed that the offender, identified as Sean Colgan, age 43, of Windsor Locks, was attempting to overdose on fentanyl and that he would attack police if he were still alive upon their arrival, said Lt. Paul Cerniack.

Authorities arrested a Hingham Public Schools bus driver and charged her with drunk driving with a busload of students after one of the passengers called the police for help on Thursday, Nov. 17, officials said.

IDs Released For Man Charged, Victim Fatally Shot While Lying In Bed In CT Neighborhood
Police have identified a Connecticut man who was shot and killed while lying in bed with his pregnant fiancé.
The Hartford County incident happened around 11 p.m., Wednesday, March 16 in the borough of Unionville, located in the Town of Farmington.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found Jorge Tejada Camacho, age 32, lying in bed with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead, McKenzie said, said Lt. Tim McKenzie, of the Farmington Police.
He was allegedly shot by 24-year-old Deondre Linder, also of Unionville.

CT Man Pours Boiling Water On Sleeping Woman, Baby, Police Say
A Connecticut man is behind bars after allegedly pouring boiling water on a woman and a baby, police announced.
Tiston Ellis, age 25, of Hartford, was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 17, and charged with:
Assault;
Risk of injury to a child;
Reckless endangerment.
The incident took place when the woman and infant were sleeping, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.
Both suffered first and second-degree burns, he said.
Boisvert would not release any more information due to the domestic nature of the crime.

14-Year-Old Turns Himself In After Shooting At Danbury Mall
A 14-year-old Fairfield County boy has turned himself in to police as being the shooter at an area mall that left a teenage girl shot in the chest.
The shooting took place around 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, near the entrance to Macy's at Danbury Fair Mall during a confrontation between two groups of teens, authorities said.
One person, described as a tall, thin male with dreadlocks who may be in his early teens, took out a gun and fired a single shot, which struck the teenager, Danbury Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour said.

A Connecticut woman was arrested after allegedly hitting a police vehicle while driving in the wrong direction on I-91, while drunk.
Latifah Roldan, age 31, of East Hartford, was arrested by Connecticut State Police, on Sunday, May 2, following the incident which took place in the area of Exit 36 in Windsor, said the Connecticut State Police.

After a standoff that lasted more than three hours, a New England man who was barricaded in a hotel room with a woman was arrested by police.
