26-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After Being Thrown From Bike In Central Mass Police say excessive speed caused an early morning crash on Monday, Sept. 9, in Worcester that killed a motorcyclist.  The crash was reported around 2:45 a.m. near 465 Shrewsbury St. The 26-year-old Westborough rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Worcester police said.  The man's name has not been released.  An initial investigation found that the rider was traveling at an "extremely high rate of speed" when he hit a vehicle as it was turning left, Worcester police said. Man's Body Pulled From Western Mass. River Police in Hampden County are investigating after they pulled the body of a man from a river in West Springfield earlier this week.  West Springfield police were alerted to a body around 2 p.m. on Friday, June 21, in the Westfield River. He was found in the area of Front Street near the fish ladder, police said in a Facebook post.  The man was dead when police arrived. Authorities have not released his name.  West Springfield police are investigating the incident, but officers do not believe foul play was involved.

Kayaker Finds Body On Riverbank Near Western Mass Bridge: Firefighters Holyoke firefighters and police were called to Muller Bridge Sunday morning after a kayaker body on the bank of a river.  Crews responded just before noon to Long Pond Road after receiving reports of the corpse washed up on the bank, the Holyoke Fire Department said. Man Charged In Connection With Western Massachusetts Murder: DA A man has been arrested in connection with a homicide in western Massachusetts, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office reports. Jose Hernandez, of West Springfield, was arrested and charged with murder on Friday, Oct. 21, the office reports. Authorities were aware of a possible homicide victim on Thursday, according to the office. Police later searched the victim's house and found them dead inside.  Investigators later determined Hernandez as the suspect. He is expected to be arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court.
