A big cat trainer and former associate of "Tiger King" star Joe Exotic was killed by a tiger during a performance. Ryan Easley died at Growler Pines Tiger Preserve on Saturday, Sept. 20, the southeastern Oklahoma facility said in a Facebook post. He ran ShowMe Tigers and had worked with animals from Joe Exotic and Bhagavan "Doc" Antle. Easley was performing "an act with the tiger when something went wrong, resulting in him being attacked," Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park told KXII 12 News. PETA supporters planned to take to Harvard’s campus, while “experimenters” dressed in lab coats shine strobe lights on them in a protest against the university’s tests on baby monkeys, the organization said. PETA is calling on the U.S. Department of Agriculture to look into what it describes as animal welfare violations at a lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. However, the university said it follows all laws concerning animals used in laboratory testing. PETA Honors Massachusetts State Police K9 Killed In Fitchburg Standoff
Animal rights group PETA said it would honor Frankie, the Massachusetts State Police dog killed in the line of duty last month. Frankie was fatally shot during a stand-off with a 38-year-old wanted man in Fitchburg on July 26. Matthew Mack barricaded himself inside his apartment and refused to come outside despite pleas from his family and police negotiators.
