Flooding, Power Outages Plague Mass After Storms Pummel Northeast Heavy downpours led to widespread flooding and power outages across eastern Massachusetts on Monday, Dec. 18, and it could be days before authorities can restore electricity to all homes.  More than 270,000 people were left without power as of Monday afternoon, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) said.
