Flooding, Power Outages Plague Mass After Storms Pummel Northeast
Heavy downpours led to widespread flooding and power outages across eastern Massachusetts on Monday, Dec. 18, and it could be days before authorities can restore electricity to all homes. More than 270,000 people were left without power as of Monday afternoon, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) said. 7 Dogs Die In 2-Alarm Central Massachusetts House Fire: Officials
Seven dogs are dead and several more animals were rescued from a burning home in North Central Massachusetts over the weekend, officials said. Crews responded to a two-alarm fire at 47 Mill Street in Pepperell around 8:11 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, according to Pepperell Fire Chief Brian Borneman. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from both ends of the home. 17 Students Sickened By Uncooked Chicken Nuggets At Central Mass Middle School: Officials
Seventeen students were sickened after consuming undercooked chicken nuggets at a Central Massachusetts middle school, officials said. Fifteen of the students fell ill after eating their meals at Nissitissit Middle School in Pepperell on Thursday, Oct. 27, Superintendent Brad Morgan said in a release.
