Alert Issued For Shoplifting Suspect In Region
Recognize him? Police investigators in Western Massachusetts are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a wanted suspect who was caught on camera robbing an area liquor store. The West Springfield Police Department released a photo of a wanted man who allegedly ran out of Rotary Liquors on Park Street with two bottles of stolen liquor at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24. Know Him? Police Look To ID Western Mass Package Thief
Police in Hampden County are asking the public for helping to identify a man wanted for allegedly stealing a package from in front of a home. West Springfield Police Department said the incident took place, around 10:30 a.m., Sunday, March 28, from a house on Park Street. The man, who was captured on the home's video surveillance, is described as being a Hispanic male, wearing a black Hurley hoodie, red undershirt, and black pants. Teens' Attempt To Avoid Police Raises Suspicion; Stolen Vehicle Recovered
Four teenagers were arrested early Friday morning after allegedly trying to outrun a police cruiser in a stolen SUV. While stationed on Route 20 at around 2 a.m., a West Springfield police officer allegedly saw an SUV pull an abrupt U-Turn a house or two before passing the cruiser. Suspecting the driver was trying to avoid the police, the officer pursued the vehicle, police said. The West Springfield Police Department had stationed an officer in the Tatham Neighborhood by Poplar Avenue on Route 20 due to a rash of car break-ins and thefts, police said.
