Police have identified a woman killed in a New Hampshire snowmobile crash as a 39-year-old North Brookfield resident. Shawnee Hollis died after the snowmobile she was on crashed into a tree in the town of Milan, New Hampshire, at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, New Hampshire state officials said. Several people are without a home after a multi-alarm fire ripped through a multi-family house in Central Massachusetts this week, fire officials tell Daily Voice. Crews responded to the three-alarm fire at 11 Arch Street in North Brookfield around mid-morning on Thursday, March 30, Fire Chief Joseph Holway told Daily Voice. House Fire: 1 Person Hospitalized, Others Displaced After Central Mass Blaze
One person was hospitalized, and others were displaced after a Brookfield house fire on Thursday, Feb. 16. But fast-working firefighters were able to rescue several pets from the inferno. The call came in just after 1:30 p.m. that a house near the intersection of Common Street and Post Road was in flames, the Brookfield Fire Department said. A boater who went missing over the weekend was found dead in the waters of Lake Lashway in the North Brookfield area of central Massachusetts, North Brookfield Police said on Facebook. Stephen Coupe, age 60, was found after several crews responded to a report of a missing boater after his boat washed ashore without him on it around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. Dozens of cats are looking for new “forever homes” after they were surrendered to a Massachusetts animal shelter by a man unable to continue taking care of them. Earlier this month, a pet owner in Worcester County contacted the Second Chance Animal Services in North Brookfield because he had to leave his home and needed to make arrangements for cats he had taken in through the years.
