A 20-year-old singer and songwriter from New England is impressing judges on “America’s Got Talent.” Kieran Rhodes, age 20, of Boston, made his debut on the hit NBC show Tuesday, June 21. Police have issued an alert about paving scams as the summer months approach in New England. The West Springfield Police Department in Hampden County said in an announcement that paving scams typically increase during spring and summer. A man who was part of an elaborate “grab-and-go” theft scheme that targeted retailers throughout New England and the East Coast has been sentenced to prison time, federal officials announced. Hartford resident Jahliil Parrott, also known as “Stretch,” age 24, of Windsor, was sentenced by US District Judge Vanessa L. It'll be a family affair for a father-son duo from Western Massachusetts who will spend more than a decade in prison for operating a multi-state drug trafficking ring that ran from Mexico to both coasts. Federal prosecutors announced that Hampden County residents Isaac Cardona, age 34, and Rafael Cardona, Sr., age 61, both of Springfield, have been sentenced to 12 years in prison for their roles in a large-scale drug trafficking operation.
