Mold Risks Prompt Massive Recall Of 1.7M+ Air Conditioners Under Many Brand Names Nearly 1.75 million window air conditioners imported by a New Jersey company have been recalled after reports of mold exposure and respiratory problems. Midea America Corp. issued the recall for about 1.7 million air conditioners sold in the US and around 45,900 in Canada, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, June 5. 1.4 Million Electrical Panels Recalled Due To Fire Hazards A company has recalled more than 1 million electrical panels due to thermal burn and fire hazards. Schneider Electric announced the recall of about 1.4 million Square D QO Plug-on-Neutral Load Centers on Thursday, June 16, because the products' load centers can overheat. The recall includes equipment that was installed in homes, recreational vehicles, and commercial establishments, the announcement said.  The company said it has received one report of an incident involving a loose wire but no reports of injuries. Recall Issued For 226K Smoke-Carbon Monoxide Alarms That Don't Sound Alert For Fires More than 226,000 faulty combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled because they may fail to provide alerts if a fire was to break out. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that seven Kidde models - Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 smoke and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms (see above) - are included in the recall.
