Teens' Attempt To Avoid Police Raises Suspicion; Stolen Vehicle Recovered Four teenagers were arrested early Friday morning after allegedly trying to outrun a police cruiser in a stolen SUV. While stationed on Route 20 at around 2 a.m., a West Springfield police officer allegedly saw an SUV pull an abrupt U-Turn a house or two before passing the cruiser. Suspecting the driver was trying to avoid the police, the officer pursued the vehicle, police said. The West Springfield Police Department had stationed an officer in the Tatham Neighborhood by Poplar Avenue on Route 20 due to a rash of car break-ins and thefts, police said. Sixth Person Arrested For Savage Beating, Shooting Of Rival In Long-Standing Feud An 18-year-old man is the sixth person to be arrested for an August shooting and beating that police believe arose from a long-standing feud. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Vernon Police arrested Trenton Merrill, 18, 157 Union St., Vernon, on the charges of attempted murder, operating a drug factory, and several other felonies, police said. Merrill is the suspected shooter, police said. He’s being held on a $1.6 million bond.  A few days earlier, on Sept. 22, Vernon Police arrested five people connected to the same incident - an Aug. 27, daytime-shooting on Prospect Street, downtown Rockville. …

Stolen Cars From MA, CT Suburbs Keep Winding Up In Hartford Stolen cars from all around the area keep winding up in Hartford. On Friday, Sept. 18, Hartford Police said they have recovered another five stolen vehicles and one stolen firearm. The recovered cars are from Simsbury Storrs Berlin West Hartford Longmeadow, MA. The gun was stolen from Glastonbury, police said. All of the cars that were stolen were taken with the key fob left inside, police said.
