A plane that reportedly left a Long Island airport crashed into the Hudson River after attempting an emergency landing in Orange County, NY, on Monday night, March 2. According to News 12, the Cessna 172 took off from the runway at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip and crashed on the southbound side of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in Newburgh. New York State Police are investigating a possible drowning in the Hudson River involving a Connecticut man.
