Man With Rifle Found Passed Out Inside Running Car At Springfield Intersection: Cops Police found two men passed out inside a running car at a Springfield intersection on Labor Day, and along with the sleepers, officers uncovered a loaded rifle with an extended magazine sitting in the open, authorities said.  Officers were called to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Chestnut Street around 9:15 a.m. That's where they found the two men sound asleep. The car was still in drive as it idled there, Springfield police said.  Officials said officers spotted the assault-style rifle with an extended magazine sitting in the passenger's lap when they approached the vehicle.
