Injured Hiker, Lost Partner Rescued From Woods In Western Mass A couple who were injured and lost in a heavily forested area of Berkshire County had to be rescued when they couldn't find their way out, authorities said.  The ordeal began Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 1, in Goshen. A hiker left their home for a walk through the forest but hurt themselves. Their significant other went looking for them when they didn't return home after several hours.   The hiker needed to be carried out, and their partner wasn't sure which path would lead them to salvation, Goshen firefighter said. The crash took place in Hampden County around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in the Town of Goshen. Missing 13-Year-Old Girl Found As night fell, so too did the hopes among firefighters and volunteers that they were going to find a missing 13-year-old girl. On Wednesday, Dec. 2, at nearly 6 p.m. Goshen Firefighters and members from nearby towns, canvassed the area around Fuller Road in Chesterfield to assist Massachusetts State Police Troopers in finding a missing girl. Massachusetts' seven-day positive test rate for COVID-19 has been below 2 percent since the beginning of July. On Friday, July 17, Gov. Charlie Baker said the positive rate for the past seven days is 1.7 percent. Meanwhile, in Hampshire County, Chesterfield is the only community with a 14-day positive test rate of over 2 percent - the town's rate is 6.7 percent.
