5-Alarm Fire Tears Through $2.5M Historic Central Mass Mansion
An early morning fire on Friday, March 1, severely damaged a historic mansion in Worcester County. Northridge firefighters were called to the Whitinsville Lasell Manor just after 1 a.m. to reports of a blaze, a Facebook post said. The flames grew fast, and the blaze quickly became a 5-alarm fire. The fire grew so hot that it collapsed part of the roof on the 25,0000 square-foot mansion, NBC Boston reported. Homeowner Escapes 2 Alarm Blaze In Westborough: Firefighters
A Westborough homeowner can thank their fire alarm for helping them escape a two-alarm blaze on Friday morning, Feb. 24. The blaze broke out just before 6:30 a.m. at 65 Adams St. near the intersection with Orchard Hill Drive, authorities said. The fire started in the living room and quickly spread. Westborough firefighters were fast to the scene, and with help from several area fire crews, they had it under control by 7:15 a.m., officials said. Central Mass Firefighters Battle Back Flames In Home's Basement
Firefighters in Holden rushed to a home on Zottoli Road earlier this week when someone saw smoke pouring from someone's basement, officials said. The two-alarm fire was first called in just after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Flames licked the side of the home as they poured out of the basement window as firefighters arrived. But crews were able to contain the fire before it spread to the rest of the home. There was damage to the basement and other floors. No injuries were reported.
