Massachusetts Man Admits To Attempting To Buy Jeep With Counterfeit Check
A Massachusetts man is facing years behind bars after admitting to purchasing a Jeep using a counterfeit check.
David Hogan, age 58, of Worcester, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud Monday, April 25, in federal court in Boston.
Prosecutors said Hogan visited a Newton dealership in March 2021 and gave them a $56,000 check for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which he then drove off the lot.
But when the dealership tried cashing the check, they were told the bank account had been frozen, prosecutors said.

A Massachusetts man has been was indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with the burning of a restaurant in October.
Worcester County resident Edmond Charrette, aka Edmond Kuhn, age 31, of Princeton, was indicted on Thursday, Jan. 20 on one count of damage and destruction of a building by means of fire.
Charrette will make an initial appearance in federal court in Worcester on Thursday, Jan. 27.

A Massachusetts man and woman have pleaded guilty to charges related to their roles in a fentanyl, heroin, crack and cocaine trafficking conspiracy.
Worcester County residents Ricky Figueroa, age 31, and 29-year-old Monica Troche, both of Fitchburg, entered the pleas in federal court on Tuesday, Nov. 30, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.

Massachusetts Man Accused Of Possessing Child Porn
A Massachusetts man has been arrested and charged in federal court for allegedly possessing child pornography.
Worcester County resident, Matthew Stefanelli, age 31, was arrested on Wednesday, July 14, following an investigation into his electronic devices, said Acting U.S. Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell.
Stefanelli, of Upton, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography.
According to the charging documents, in January, agents seized several electronic devices from Stefanelli’s residence.
