Tornado Watch Issued For Much Of Region, With 60 MPH Wind Gusts, Hail Also Possible
As a slow-moving storm system barrels through the Northeast, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for much of the region until 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16.
It includes parts of southeastern New York -- Long Island, as well as Westchester, and Putnam counties -- as well as all eight counties in Connecticut, and the following counties in Massachusetts: Berkshire, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Worcester.
A look at all areas under the watch, also including parts of Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine, is marked in yellow in the image above from the National Weather Service.

Connecticut Man Dies At Rhode Island Beach, Police Say
A Connecticut man died after his body was found floating in the water at a Rhode Island beach.
Hartford County resident Frank Sievel, age 74, of Farmington, was pulled from the ocean around 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 7 at the Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island.
According to Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella, lifeguards pulled Sievel, who was unresponsive, from the water and began life-saving measures.
He was transported to the Westerly Hospital and was pronounced dead, the chief said.

Clothing Chain To Close All CT, MA Stores, Laying Off Nearly 500
A clothing store with 46 locations across five states is selling off its inventory and closing all its locations.
EbLens, a retail store with a 70-year history, is liquidating its inventory and closing all its stores for the "benefit of creditors," according to Steven Victor, Executive Manager of Eblens ABC LLC.
The chain was created in New Britain, Connecticut in 1949 and now sells name-brand streetwear, footwear, and accessories.
EbLens currently employs close to 500 people across all its stores, including 17 in Connecticut and 17 in Massachusetts.
The workers will lose their jobs …
