New Update: I-95 Stretch Fully Reopens After Fiery Crash Causes Days-Long Closure
This story has been updated. A stretch of I-95 in Connecticut has now fully reopened three days after a fire involving a tanker with 8,500 gallons of gas days earlier. Northbound lanes on the stretch in Norwalk reopened Saturday evening, May 4. Lanes opened on the southbound side reopened late Sunday morning, May 5, earlier than had been expected. Man Posing As DOT Worker Nabbed On CT Roadway: Police
A Massachusetts man was arrested in Connecticut after officers said he posed as a government worker in an attempt to steal. It happened on Monday, Nov. 20 in the Hartford County town of Manchester, according to Connecticut State Police. At approximately 8:30 that morning, 49-year-old John Seeley of Springfield, Massachusetts was reportedly seen on the side of I-384 West wearing a reflective construction gear and a hard hat. One Of Last Covered Bridges In CT Severely Damaged By Backhoe
A historic covered bridge in Connecticut was severely damaged after someone towed a backhoe through it, officials said. The West Cornwall Covered Bridge in Litchfield County, located in West Cornwall by the intersection of Route 128 and Route 7, was damaged on Friday afternoon, Dec. 23, when the backhoe struck multiple wooden beams that support the bridge's roof, according to the state's Department of Transportation. Man Accused Of Assaulting Connecticut DOT Employee
A 31-year-old man was charged for allegedly assaulting a Connecticut Department of Transportation employee. Connecticut State Police troopers received a report of an assault in a construction zone on I-84 westbound in West Hartford near Exit 41 shortly after 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, according to Connecticut State Police. The right lane was closed at the time, and two lanes were open to traffic, police said.
