'Collective Pain' Spreads Among UMass-Dartmouth After Freshman Student's Death A student body is coming together to raise awareness after a 19-year-old University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth student was struck and killed by a car on campus last week.  Frankie Petillo Jr. was struck by a vehicle on Thursday, April 6, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Petillo, of the Manahawkin, NJ, was a freshman Bioengineering student.  UMass students gathered for a candlelight vigil on Monday and also launched a Change.org petition to improve street safety on campus.  The petition says, in part: "The student body wants more safety. Candlelight Vigil For Missing 11-year-old Aiden Blanchard To Be Held Wednesday A candlelight vigil has been planned for Wednesday, Feb. 17, in honor of Aiden Blanchard, an 11-year-old boy who has been missing since Feb. 5. Organized by Dan Leatherwood, the vigil will begin at 4 p.m. on Medina Street near the boat ramp in Chicopee - one of the last places associated with Aiden. The vigil will end around 6 p.m. Leatherwood said he has coordinated the event with Michelle Blanchard. “The candlelight vigil is a solemn time for us to come together as a community and share our hope in Aiden’s safe return home,” Leatherwood said on the Facebook event. Vigil To Be Held For 'Teacher Of The Year' Killed In Motorcycle Crash The Enfield community is gathering Sunday, Aug. 9, to hold a candlelight vigil for a local Teacher of the Year who died earlier this week in a motorcycle crash. Megan Arsenault, 37, is being mourned by the many people in the Enfield community whose lives she touched. “Meg Arsenault was an absolute cornerstone of our CLHS family and was taken way too soon,” said Jeff Larson, the high school’s principal.
