'Horrific Living Conditions': 3 Kids Removed From Western Mass Home Deemed 'Uninhabitable' Three children were taken from a Hampden County apartment last week after investigators searched it on a drugs warrant and found the living conditions "horrific," Holyoke police said.  A task force of several area agencies raided the home at 149 Essex Street to search for drugs, but what they found was much worse.
