Eye On The Storm: These Areas Are Expected To See Accumulating Snow, Poor Travel Conditions
A storm system packed with a wide swath of snow, rain, and strong winds is expected to cause poor travel conditions and bring accumulating snowfall to some spots in the days leading up to Christmas. The system is due to arrive on Thursday, Dec. 22, the National Weather Service said. Projections Updated For Nor'easter That Will Bring Up To 18 Inches Of Snow To Some Spots
A potent storm system that started out with blizzard-like conditions in the Midwest and fatal tornadoes in the South has the potential to dump as much as 18 inches of snow in more areas than earlier projected in the Northeast, according to AccuWeather.com. The system is due to arrive from west to east Thursday, Dec. 15, and linger into Friday, Dec. 16. Nor'easter: Track Shifts For Blockbuster Storm With Projected Snowfall Totals Increasing
The projected track of a blockbuster Nor'easter on target to slam the region has shifted toward the coast, leading to an area in projected snowfall totals increasing, and as much as 36 inches of accumulation is now possible in some spots. Winter Weather Outlook For Region Released By Farmers Almanacs
Want an early read on the weather outlook for the winter of 2020-21? There already are two forecasts by a pair of publications with long histories, and they're not exactly in agreement. "If you love the cold of winter, you’re going to love our forecast if you live in the northern half of the country," the Farmers' Almanac said.
