Man Admits To 3 Springfield Slayings While Awaiting Federal Murder Trial: DA A Waterbury, Connecticut, man awaiting a federal trial on kidnapping and murder charges admitted to killing three people in Springfield beginning in 2006, authorities said.  Calvin Robertson, 41, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, April 18, to three counts of manslaughter, the Hampden County District Attorney announced. Double Shooting With Serious Injuries: Police In Western Mass Searching For Clues Springfield police are investigating a double shooting that happened Wednesday evening, April 5.  Officers were alerted to the shooting via a ShotSpotter activation just after 5:45 p.m., Springfield police said. They arrived at the 100 block of Ft. Pleasant Ave. and found two men bleeding from gunshot wounds.  Responders rushed them to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries, officials said.  Police did not release an update on their condition or their names. Springfield detectives are investigating the shooting.

Police Investigating Afternoon Shooting In Western Mass Police in Hampden County are investigating a shooting in broad daylight on Monday, March 30.  Springfield police were called to an area near the intersection of Cornell and Harvard streets just after 5 p.m. to reports of a shooting. They found a man on the ground with a bullet wound. Paramedics took the victim to Baystate Medical Center for treatment, and his injuries are considered not life-threatening, Springfield police said.  Detectives are investigating the incident.
