Car Bursts Into Flames After Ramming Into Tree In Hartford County: Police A single-vehicle crash turned into a blazing fire, officials say.  Only a small amount of smoke was visible when officials responded to the scene of a car crash in Hartford County on East Main Street/Route 44 in Avon around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, according to the Avon Police Department. Woman Killed By Police Sergeant Husband In CT Murder-Suicide ID'd As Beloved Library Director A Connecticut woman killed by her police sergeant husband was a beloved library director. The couple was found shot to death in Hartford County in East Granby, on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m., and were identified as T.J. Jacius, age 49, and Doreen Jacius, age 48, both of East Granby.
