Western Mass Armed Robbery Suspect Nabbed Minutes After Crime, Police Say
An alleged Western Massachusetts attempted armed robber was caught just minutes after the crime by police patrolling the area.
Jose Diaz, age 28,was captured around 6 a.m., Sunday, June 27, in Springfield.
Diaz, of Springfield, was captured after officers received a call for an armed robbery in progress on Armory Street, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
Police were able to locate Diaz and the knife he allegedly used in the attempted armed robbery, police said.
Walsh said the store's clerk was able to get him out of the store without him stealing anything.…
Suspect Nabbed For Armed Robbery At Western Mass Mobil Mart
Police in Western Massachusetts have arrested a suspect who allegedly robbed a Mobil Mart with a knife.
Douglas Slier, age 33, was arrested Thursday, April 1, in Berkshire County for the robbery which took place around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, in Pittsfield, according to News22.
Shortly after, members of the Pittsfield Police Department responded to the Mobil Mart located at 580 North St., for a reported armed robbery, said Lieutenant Michael Maddalena.
Arriving units spoke with the Mobil Mart clerk who was unharmed during the incident.

A suspected bank robber has been arraigned in connection with a recent heist.
On Friday, Feb. 26, Daniel Jones, 38, of Charlemont, was arraigned in Northwestern District Court on the charge of armed and masked robbery, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said.
The charge stems from a robbery at People’s United Bank on King Street in Northampton on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Arrested: Woman Accused Of Robbing Friend At Gunpoint, 2nd Suspect At-Large
A Massachusetts woman accused of robbing a friend at gunpoint has been arrested.
On Monday, Jan. 11, police officers were dispatched to the area of 877 Main St. in Worcester at 4:45 p.m. for a report of a carjacking, police said.
Upon arrival, police found probable cause that a man was robbed of his car keys at gunpoint by two acquaintances following an argument, police said.
