Victim Dies 7 Months After Being Shot; Suspected Shooter Held Without Bail
The victim of a summertime shooting has just died, according to the Worcester County District Attorney, and a suspect in the man’s death has been arraigned in court.
Jose A. Merced, 32, of Worcester, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 30, about 13 hours after the shooting victim had died, DA Joseph D. Early, Jr., said in a statement.
The initial violence took place on July 9 around 5 p.m. on Mount Pleasant Street. This is where Worcester Police found a man, Luis Tiru-Romero, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his chest and head, according to MassLive.

Man Accused Of Shooting, Running Over Springfield Teen Turns Self In To Authorities
A man accused of shooting and then running over a Springfield teenager has turned himself into the courts, Springfield Police said.
Anthony Eberhart, 40, of Springfield, went to the Hampden Hall of Justice, the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 19, and was arrested on a warrant. Eberhart is being charged with murder, carrying a loaded firearm with a license, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, police said.

Teen Charged With Murder Following Break-in At His Aunt's Montague Home
A Montague teen is being tried with murder in connection with a stabbing earlier this month.
Elijah Michonski, 18, of Montague, was arraigned, remotely, in Greenfield District County, on the charges of murder, two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), two counts armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of home invasion, breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, and motor vehicle larceny, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said.
Michonski pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail, the DA said.
