3 Homemade Bombs Found In Worcester; Police Warn Of Unattended Items
Worcester police say they have located three explosive devices throughout the city since they found the remnants of a small explosion last month. Police learned of the explosion on Wednesday, June 19, at 185 Madison St. They found fireworks, a butane gas can, and projectile materials at the scene, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said. Crews Work To Restore Power To 6,000 Customers After Tropical Storm, Eversource Says
Eversource Energy has given an update on its efforts to restore power to customers after Tropical Storm Elsa moved through the region. The company said hundreds of line and tree workers are working to restore power to thousands of customers. More than 13,000 customers have had power restored since the storm began as of 3 p.m. on Friday, July 9, the company said. Federal health officials have laid out guidelines for how to best care for someone who contracts COVID-19 without falling ill yourself. With new COVID-19 cases on the rise across the country, the CDC laid out new guidance to help those who have to provide support for someone who falls sick. Get set for a prolonged period of heat and humidity as temperatures will soar into the upper 90s with heat indices hitting 100 degrees or more over the weekend. Saturday, July 18 will feature above-normal temps with lots of sunshine and highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s across eastern New York, Connecticut and western New England.
