Original: Police across Massachusetts say the statewide 911 system was down on Tuesday afternoon, June 18.
Officers ask residents to contact their local department directly if they need help or pull an emergency firebox to have police sent to that position immediately, police said.
Police did not say what caused the outages, but they are working to repair it. It's unclear when that will be, however.
