$1M Lottery Win: Springfield Woman Has Noble Plans For Her Massive Payday

A Springfield woman who recently won $1 million from playing the Massachusetts State Lottery said she's excited but not just for herself. She's happy that she can help out her family, whom she loves very much, she told lottery officials.

Michelle Johnson won the third and final $1 million prize in the "$1,000,000 Holiday Bonus" scratch-off lottery game.

She chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 before taxes rather than the annuity.

Johnson bought the lucky winning ticket at Swift Fresh Market at 1271 Page Blvd in Springfield. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling it.
