Power Outages Surge Past 43K As Storms Batter Pennsylvania
More than 43,000 homes and businesses were without power across Pennsylvania on Thursday, Sept. 3, after another round of powerful thunderstorms swept across the state.
The outages more than doubled from the approximately 19,500 reported Wednesday afternoon, according to PowerOutage.us.
FirstEnergy reported more than 31,000 customers without electricity Thursday morning, while PPL Electric had nearly 5,700 outages. PECO reported approximately 1,400 customers without power.

A naked man covered in feces and urine attacked Hackensack police officers after they found him inside the stairwell of a luxury apartment building, authorities said.
Officers responded to the building at 2:34 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, on a report of an unwanted man who did not live there, Hackensack Detective Capt. Darrin DeWitt said. Police found Demond A. Clacken, 29, of Hackensack, naked and covered in feces and urine inside a stairwell, according to DeWitt.
