Teen Burglar Caught After Ransacking Maywood Apartment, Police Say
A Maywood resident returned to her apartment on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to find a light on in the rear bedroom and assumed her husband was home, authorities said. Instead, an unknown man emerged, fled through the bedroom window, and left the Howcroft Road apartment ransacked, according to Maywood Police Chief Terence Kenny. Officers from Maywood and Rochelle Park police departments responded to the scene at 5:14 p.m., established a perimeter, and began their search, Kenny said. Authorities are investigating a suspicious death in a Paramus home, a spokesperson for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office confirmed. Paramus officers were called to a home on East Ridgewood Avenue around 4:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, where they found a woman dead inside the home, BCPO spokesman Jeff Angerymeyer said.
