Springfield police are partnering with local comedians to host two comedy show fundraisers for their fellow officer, who was shot in the head during an attack. The Springfield Police Commissioner Christy Torres stepped down on Tuesday, Jan. 16, soon after police raided her home and arrested a wanted fugitive — her son — on gun and drug charges, authorities said. Police arrested a 15-year-old and charged him with burning down a sandwich shop in Springfield earlier this month, a news report said.
