The former headmaster of a Boston school will admit that she used nearly $40,000 in money set aside for children's education to pay for personal expenses, including two trips to Barbados, federal authorities said.
Naia Wilson, 60, of Mattapan, who is charged with one count of wire fraud, told prosecutors that she will plead guilty in federal court at a later date, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said Tuesday, Aug. 1. She has also agreed to repay the $38,806 she stole from the Boston Public Schools system.

A series of armed robberies, home invasions, kidnappings, and car jackings may have come to an end after five people charged with the crimes, ranging in age from 15 to 20, were arrested, according to officials.
Police were investigating the series of crimes around Lexington Avenue in Hyde Park when they saw vehicles that matched the description of cars involved with previous incidents of such offences around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, according to the Boston Police Department.

A Hyde Park man pleaded guilty this week to robbing a bank with a bb gun and now faces up to 25 years behind bars.
Paul Whooten, 59, admitted on Thursday, Jan. 12, to robbing a Rockland Truck Bank in 2019, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said.
Investigators said Whooten entered the Hyde Park branch wearing “a long dark coat, black reflective jacket, a black knit hat, black sunglasses, and gloves," carrying what appeared to be a rifle, authorities said.

A Boston man who worked as a customer service representative for a bank forged a treasurer's check to pay for a new BMW, authorities said.
Damion Evans, 42, of Hyde Park, faces charges of embezzlement from a bank, forgery, and writing a false check, the Suffolk County District Attorney said on Thursday, Sept. 29. A judge released him without bail.

Double Arrest Made In Recent Boston Homicide
Two men have been arrested in connection with a recent homicide in Hyde Park, authorities said.
Pierre Valbrun, age 20, of Roxbury, and Jonathan Thebaud, age 32, of Brockton were wanted in connection with the shooting death of Trevor Sands on October 10, 2021, Boston Police said.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of 22 Ayles Road in Hyde Park, where they found Sands suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
