57-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Crash With Pickup Truck In Wallkill A 57-year-old man was killed when he allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the front of a pickup truck. The crash occurred in Orange County around 2:30 p.m., Friday, Oct.11, in front of 103 Tower Drive in Wallkill. According to Chief Robert Hertman of the Wallkill Police, an investigation found that the victim, a Bronx man, was driving a motorcycle on Tower Drive when he crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the front of a truck traveling in the opposite direction. Person Extricated After 2-Vehicle Crash In Liberty A man was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred in Sullivan County on Route 17 at 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the town of Liberty. According to Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of the New York State Police, a 2011 Cadillac traveling northwest near the ramp at Exit 110A pulled in front of a 1995 Ford on Route 55, causing the front of the Ford to hit the driver's side of the Cadillac. According to Ten-X, the 121-room Holiday Inn Express in Dutchess County on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie will be auctioned on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force Nabs Alleged Violators Four recipients of welfare benefits in the region were nabbed for a variety of alleged crimes ranging from selling a SNAP card to failing to report income. The four were charged in Sullivan County from August to October by the Sullivan County Welfare Task Force. The four include: Sage Pere, age 26, of Monticello, was charged on Friday, Aug. 23, for criminal use of a benefit card. It is alleged that Pere sold her SNAP benefit card, issued by the Sullivan County Department of Social Services, for $50 cash. The card had $100 worth of benefits on it. Assailant Flees Scene After Woman Stabbed In Poughkeepsie A Hudson Valley woman was stabbed during a fight between two groups of people on a city street.  The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, on Montgomery Street in the city of Poughkeepsie. Man Attacked, Killed By Dogs In Albany Police in the Capital District are investigating after a man was mauled and killed by a pack of dogs. The incident occurred in Albany around 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the 500 block of Central Avenue. According to Albany Police, officers responded to reports of a man being attacked by several dogs.
